Soul Source dilators were developed by a sex therapist and gynecologist with vaginal-pain patients in mind. Made of tapered, silicone rubber in cheerful colors, they feel much more similar to human tissue than previous plastic dilators. They can be purchased as a set (sizes 2-5) or in the following individual sizes: #1- 1/2” x 2 1/2”, #2- 3/4” x 3”, #3- 7/8” x 3 1/2”, #4- 1” x 4”, #5- 1 1/8” x 4 1/2”, #6- 11/4” x 5”. Both the #1 and #2 are identified as the size of a junior tampon. The #1 is more comparable to an average-size finger.

The dilators are shipped to arrive within 2 weeks, discreetly packaged, and complete with instructions regarding cleaning, storage, and use for cryotherapy, which was not discussed, on the website. Small discounts are available for 2 through 10 sets, and a 10% discount is given for more than 10. Order forms can be downloaded from the website and interested therapists can request a sample package and literature. Soul Source sells to both practitioners and individuals but does not currently accept credit card or internet orders. Although the price is higher than some comparable products, the variety in sizes and increased comfort of the silicone may be worth the cost. I especially liked the softness of these dilators and the helpfulness of the person I corresponded with. I received very timely responses from him to my e-mail questions. They will provide literature and a clinic sample at no charge to therapists requesting one. I would feel comfortable referring women who are patients and clients in my physical therapy practice to this company.
